Ingredients
- Vanilla Sugar 1 tsp
- Powdered sugar with vanilla flavour 2 tsp
- Baking powder 1 tsp
- 4 Eggs.
- 100g Sugar
- 100g Flour
- 4 Apples
Method :
- To prepare charlotte, we need four medium-sized apples, it is better to give preference to sour varieties. We clean the apples from the stalks and seeds, cut into thin slices.
- To prepare the dough, sift the flour with baking powder.
- Break the chilled chicken eggs into a tall bowl and beat with a mixer, gradually increasing the speed. Add granulated sugar. Continue beating until the mixture thickens and increases in volume.
- Set the mixer speed to a minimum and gradually add the sifted flour with baking powder. The dough should be thick, like sour cream, and be homogeneous.
- Lubricate the baking dish with butter and sprinkle with flour (you can sprinkle breadcrumbs with sugar instead of flour, so the finished charlotte will have a crispy caramel crust) Put the prepared apple slices into the mould, evenly distribute.
- Using a spoon or spatula, we shift the dough into a mould, covering the apples, and level it.
- Preheat the oven to 170 degrees. We put the form on the wire rack and send it to the oven for 30-35 minutes. When the charlotte increases in volume and becomes light brown in color, we take it out of the oven, cool a little and take it out of the mould. It is best to turn the warm charlotte on a wire rack and let it cool, so the cake will turn out more even.
- With the help of a fine sieve, sprinkle the finished airy charlotte with powdered sugar and cut into portioned pieces, serve to the table.
- Homemade apple charlotte will be a great addition to an evening tea party with your family.
